ResumeShortlisted is designed with privacy in mind. We do not require you to create an account. Your resume data is stored locally in your browser — we only process it temporarily to generate AI suggestions or perform ATS analysis.

1. Information We Collect

Resume & Personal Information

When you use ResumeShortlisted, you enter personal and professional information to build your resume. This includes your name, contact details, work experience, education, and skills. This data is stored only in your browser (sessionStorage for the Free plan, localStorage for paid plans) and is not transmitted to our servers except when you explicitly request AI-powered features.

Job Descriptions

If you paste a job description for ATS analysis or AI tailoring, that text is sent to our AI processing service alongside your resume content solely to generate relevant suggestions. It is not stored or used beyond that request.

Payment Information

We do not collect or store your payment details. All payments are processed securely through Razorpay. We only receive a confirmation that a payment was successful, along with a transaction reference. Please refer to Razorpay's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your payment data.

Session Links

If you purchase a paid plan, we generate a temporary session link that allows you to return and edit your resume. If you provide an email address, this link is sent to you via email. We do not store your email address beyond the point of sending that link.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To render and display your resume in real time within the app
• To send your resume and job description to our AI service to generate summaries, bullet point rewrites, keyword suggestions, and ATS scores
• To process your payment through Razorpay and confirm your download access
• To send you your session link via email, if requested

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond the core service described above.

3. AI Processing

ResumeShortlisted uses third-party AI APIs to power features such as summary generation, bullet point rewriting, skill suggestions, and ATS scoring. When you use these features, relevant portions of your resume (and optionally a job description) are sent to the AI provider for processing.

AI providers process this data solely to return the requested output. We do not use your resume content to train AI models. Please note that AI-generated suggestions should be reviewed by you before use — they are suggestions, not professional advice.

4. Data Storage & Retention

After the session expires, your data is automatically cleared. We do not maintain persistent copies of your resume on our servers.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We share data only as strictly necessary:

• With our AI API provider, to process resume features you request
• With Razorpay, to process payments
• With our email provider, to send your session link if requested

6. Cookies

We use a minimal cookie (theme) to remember your light/dark mode preference. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics cookies.

7. Children's Privacy

ResumeShortlisted is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Your Rights

Since your resume data is stored locally in your browser, you have full control over it at all times. You can clear it by clearing your browser's localStorage/sessionStorage, or by starting a new resume in the app. For any concerns about data processed on our servers during AI or payment operations, please contact us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
